RAFA NADAL AND HIS GIRLFRIEND
A MOVIE’S ROMANCE.

The tennis player goes out for three years with a pretty girl of the same city called Xisca Perelló. Who is she? How do they meet? We tell you all the details.

Rafael Nadal Parera is the current number one of the world tennis. His income for taking part in the different tournaments exceeds already ? 22 million. That, without counting what enters of advertising. To his age, 22 years, and with these precedents he might have turned into a divo and to be loaded with obsessions of stars. All the opposite. Rafa is the a good example for the youth and does not do more than transmit good vibrations where he goes. Without going further, recently, we saw him consoling his eternal rival. Roger Federer, after winning him in the last Australian Open, giving the impression that he had felt bad about it.

It was his father, Sebastián, distributor of industrial glassware, who inculcated him that "with the years the tennis will pass and remains the person. It is not good to be a star, is better being who indeed you are". Rafa is so humble and simple that no scandal is known, not neither in the professional side nor in the personal one, up to the point of which even his girlfriend, with whom he goes out for three years, is not a "top model", not a movie star or a millionaire gold-digger. Francisca Perelló, two years younger that he, is a girl of the same village whom he knows since they were small. She also takes care of maintaining him with the feet in the ground, giving him the necessary emotional stability and making him remember that, over the money, are persons.

Rafa and Xisca have maintaining always their relationship very discreet and to the margin of the media world. And the one who wants some type of opportunism in the girl is very wrong, Though the relation was made official in May, 2006, after his second Roland Garros victory, they go out together since Rafa was 14 years old when he was not more than a boy with a promising future, but still without trade or benefit.

They both were born and live in Manacor, population of 40000 inhabitants to the east of the island of Majorca and both spend the summer in Porto Cristo, a village that forms a part of the same city.

Their respective mothers "were of the same gang since youth", tells us a common friend. In addition Maribel, the small sister of Rafa, and Xisca also knew each other. It was inevitable that they match and work a friendship, a friendship that became a romance when they met again at the club where she received tennis lessons.

Xisca, diminutive of Francisca, is the only daughter of Miguel Perelló and Maria Pascual, both from Manacor of their whole life. "Nice, happy, studious, a good girl", tells a relative of the young woman who asks us to stay in the anonymity.

The couple Perelló Pascual, together with their daughter, lives in Manacor's down town, in a flat of “carrer Nou”. They are also a family of hard-working middle class, not especially accommodated, but with no problems to come in order month. Her father, of 48 years old, is "mestre picapedrer", Balearic's form of naming the maestro of work, and directs a family enterprise of construction in Manacor. A profession that comes to him inherited from his forbears. "His father, Bernat Perelló, the grandfather of Xisca, also was dedicated himself to the construction and he took charge doing, for example, the reforms of the church of Los Dolores who is opposite to the Palau, the current residence of the Nadals", makes clear to us this relative.

Maria Pascual, 46 years old , works as civil servant at the area of activities of Manacor's Town hall. "I take charge of the licenses of opening establishment, permissions, these things", the own mother of Xisca makes clear to us behind the counter in which she itself attends to the public in the town hall. Polite and nice, but forceful, she comments to us that she will not say even a word neither on her daughter or the relation that she has with Nadal: "To them it bothers them that one speaks about their relation and I am not anybody to do the opposite to what they think them". Though, for the way of saying it, she gives us the impression that she feels very happy and proud of that her daughter has as a boyfriend a boy like Rafa Nadal.

Besides the flat in Manacor, the father of Xisca has a little house in Porto Cristo, a village that belongs to the same city and placed to 10 kilometres, already on the coast. It is a simple house in the street Villalonga, in the center and few blocks from the beach. Her neighbors, Laura and Iván, recognize that even now they are surprised "when in summer Rafa Nadal comes with his red Mercedes to pick up Xisca, friendly, always he greets when you call him, but we do not harass him either". More they will surprise next summer when he comes with the new car, a tremendous colour gray Aston Martin, James Bond's car, which the tennis player has given himself as present..

Xisca, on the other hand, drives a small Kia, though sometimes she has been seen taking the Mercedes that his boyfriend leaves to her. "A girl very cool, fun and friendly, extroverted, which have many suitors", said Ivan, slightly older than Xisca, but who also shares in addition to neighborhood outings. He explains us that is not difficult to see them in the night places in the zone of Es Carreró of Porto Cristo, as Twist or Wall Street, when Rafa appears in the island.

Also the Nadal family has in Porto Cristo the second residence, clearly that in another level. The paternal grandfather of the tennis player, who was a musician in the band of Town hall Manacor and to whom in his honor they put the name to his grandson, Rafael, possesses a beautiful property with a view to the sea in the street Juan Amer of the town, where the whole Nadal family spends the summer. Rafa scarcely could have enjoyed his new housing for the sports commitments, but the couple, providing that Rafa is in the island, visits it to adapt it to his tastes. This house is his first project of future and where he will fix his residence when he decides to form a family, because, at the moment, the tennis player still is not independent and continues living in the home of his parents. The family Nadal is a whole clan in which grandparents, parents and uncles share housing. It is a beautiful traditional building of the 14th century, known as "The Palau" for having been a residence of the kings of Majorca. The property has a public part - the tower, which can be visited-, and the private zone of housing. Place for many years of the known factory of pearls Majorica, it was acquired by the Nadals, a long before Rafa was becoming a millionaire by the tennis. The family have three principal floors of the building.

"In the first floor the grandparents live, in the second one the family of his uncle and coach, Toni Nadal, and in the third Rafa with his parents and his little sister", Gabriela tells us, owner of a pastry shop and neighbor of the house across the street whose window it is disputed now "all my friends to see if they can get a glimpse to Nadal". Xisca, on the contrary, always has been a good student, without standing out, but without problems to pass the classes. On having ended high school she joined the University of the Illes Balears (UIB) and, nowadays, she is dealing third of Administration of Companies (ADE), a career of four years, without too many problems. “She use to pass and she’s a normal girl, that does her stuff ad never comments about her being Nadal’s girlfriend. Here we respect that, for that we don’t comment anything of it with her either”, explain her classmates. Proof of her discretion is that in the Faculty cafeteria, many pupils don’t even know that Xisca is Rafa Nadal’s girlfriend.

In Manacor they both are also one of the bunch. Rafa Nadal is "Rafalet", nobody bothers him and nobody treats him like a superstar that he is. "It is that he is a boy to whom fame hasn’t gone up to his head, if you go for the street and greet him he responds you, the whole family is good people”, tells us Juana, neighbor of the same street. The player can walk calmly along his town, go with his friends to the bars of always, to the cinema or to play football in the beach with total freedom. They are assiduous of Es Cos Cafe or the bars and pubs of d’en Bassa square, like the rest of his neighbors. “When they come they have shakes and Neapolitan of chocolate –tell us Isabel of the Palau Café-. For us, on having passed for the door of the place stops being Rafa Nadal and turns into a client as the others”.

If they go out to have dinner, Rafa and Xisca prefer the restaurants specializing in fish and seafood, but, especially, pizza places, since pasta is the favorite plate of both. Rafa is of those who get into the kitchen to prepare his star dish, spaghetti with gambas and mushrooms, which the tennis player embroiders. "He makes them very good - tells one of his team mates-, a pity is that he always does the same thing and, frankly, we are tired of the mushrooms". However, with going out to tapas he has it badly, since Rafa cannot stand the ham he likes neither the cheese nor the beer, though he can spend a happy afternoon with his girlfriend in an ice-cream parlour devouring an ice cream of cream and cookies, his favorite one.

They share musical tastes, like Oreja de Van Gogh, and his interest to certain series of television. Rafa has declared himself a fan of “Prison Break” and, especially, of “Lost”. “I take the DVD’s of the series to see them while I travel”, admits the tennis player. Also they go out together to pubs and discotheques, though Nadal admits that “I’m not a very good dancer”.

Rafa is a carried away by all sports. If he wouldn’t have been a tennis player, he itself assures that he would be a football player. And he was a very good as left wing, "the maximum scorer of the team", remembers Toni Mesquida and Pedro Riera, his coaches when he was a fry of the Club Manacor with 11 years. They still preserve his player's card in which it is possible to read that he was failing in the coordination. “He was a bit clumsy”, his former trainers laugh, but already he was blunting his great physical resistance. Rafa is also good at golf, with a handicap of 10 that indicates his great level. In his free time, he is useful to give long walks in bicycle or to go to fishing in his boat. The sea and the tennis, that Xisca practices as an amateur since she left rhythmic gym, are the only sports interests that the couple shares.

Xisca is discreet, intelligent, very pretty and thin (her measures 1,65 of height and weighs 50 kilos). Another girlfriend has never known herself to Rafa. The only moment of crisis through that the couple lived was, precisely, when a supposed relation of Nadal came out to the light with the Danish tennis player Carolina Wozniacki, spread by a magazine of that country. The Nadal family, always unwilling to speak about these topics, managed to emit a statement denying such a relation and assuring that Rafa was with Xisca.

In the three years that go of romance they haven’t been able to see each other as much as they wanted due to the professional commitments of Nadal, who barely can be a couple of months of the year in his natal Manacor. Xisca comes every time with more assiduity to the tournaments when the classes allow her, always trying to pass unnoticed and without making any kind of declaration. She accompanied him to Roland Garros of Paris after recieving the Principe de Asturias Award granted to tennis player, we saw her in Godó of Barcelona and the Open in New York sharing jokes and caresses. Also in Wimbledon in London, where they rented a house instead of staying in the habitual hotels of concentration.

When Rafa Nadal got injured in the knee, at the end of 2008, he could be a longer season with his girlfriend and they took well-deserved vacations travelling together to the idyllic Mauritius in the Indic African. In the previous days of the Davis Cup in Benidorm the couple also could enjoy a few days of tranquility, since that the tennis player skipped the Dubai Open and took advantage of that week to be in the island with his girl, where he also rolled an ad for one of his sponsors. Both are still very young to even think about marriage, but the relationship continues wind abaft. And it‘s that when Rafa Nadal is with Xisca, the racket can wait.

Это надо печатать с предупреждением: ничему не вертье. Они не ходили вместе в школу, живут не в одном городке и т.д. и т.п.

Не странно, что загорелый, привлекательный и чрезвычайно талантливый теннисист Рафаэль Надаль собрал целую армию поклонниц по всему миру. Страсть девушек разгорелась ещё давно, благодаря PR-кампании Nike, в которой Надаль предстал в роли стильного и энергичного холостяка.

На самом деле у Надаля есть вторая половинка — соблазнительная темноволосая девушка, с которой он когда-то ходил в школу. Мария Франциска Перелла (а именно так и зовут избранницу), которая живет в одном городке с Рафаэлем на их родном острове, встречается с теннисистом уже пятый год.

Дальновидная красавица, которую друзья зовут Ксиска, избегает всеобщего внимания и редко посещает матчи возлюбленного, потому что не хочет его отвлекать. Тренер и дядя Рафы, Тони Надаль, признает: «Наверняка много девушек расстроится, когда узнают, что Рафаэль не сам. Мой племянник всегда уверял, что у него никого нет. Ему хорошо удавалось хранить эту тайну, но на самом деле на Майорке его ждет любимая девушка».

Друзья отзываются о ней как о «воспитанной и умной девушке из хорошей местной семьи». Ксиска изучает предпринимательскую деятельность в университете столичного города Пальма. Её двоюродная сестра Мария Перелло Лимонес отзывается о Ксиске так: «Она здравомыслящая, серьезная девушка, которой не интересны гламур и слава. И в этом они с Надалем очень похожи, потому что несмотря на его известность и приличное состояние, Рафаэль простой парень, который любит отдохнуть на пляже, порыбачить и поужинать в семейном кругу. Напомним, что он все ещё живет со своими родителями и сестрой в их роскошном доме.

Друг Педро Гернадез рассказывает о молодой паре: «Рафа и Ксиска оба очень скромные и простые люди, и живут они просто. Им совсем не нужна „звездная жизнь“. Они всегда вместе по окончании турниров». Когда Надаль возвращается домой для того, чтобы отдохнуть, пара отправляется в Манакор, неприметный промышленный город в самом сердце Майорки, где они проводят дни напролет на пляже Порто Кристо.

Напомним, что ещё не так давно поговаривали, будто Надаль был влюблен в датскую теннисистку Каролин Возняцки. Но теннисист это категорически отрицал. Судя по всему, Рафаэлю кроме Ксиски никто не нужен. С этим согласен и дедушка первой ракетки мира: «Я видел Рафаэля вместе с Ксиской буквально перед тем, как он вылетел на очередной турнир и в который раз подумал, что они — замечательная пара».
